Salem Downtown Beanery

This historic building in downtown Salem had been largely covered over during the "modernization" craze of the 1960's. Much of that damage was undone with this project, returning the building to its original beauty. To create a covered area for outdoor tables, the windows at the street level were moved back several feet. Warm-colored stucco walls now complement the original arched wood windows and crisp green awnings.
Inside, the space was reconfigured to improve the flow of customers and staff, and to allow increased display space. A raised seating area with booths creates a more intimate atmosphere within the open, airy space.
